I always look forward to getting Christmas cards from family and friends, all the stories and pictures show off how thankful everyone is for the life they have been given, no matter what trials or joys their past year was full of.
Getting a picture of a family to hang up on the wall during Christmas time may be a little old fashioned, but I like it. but that makes me kind of a hypocrite because here is my digital Christmas card.
Feel free to scroll through and read a brief summary of my year that I put together.
Put your trust in God, know Him, and seek Him, and He will not forsake you.
Every year I get to this time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I reflect on the past year. Some years have felt great, other years, not so much. But this year I am greatful for my steadfast and loving Savior that I hold fast to through the entirety of my life. God is so so good
If you are reading this, you have influenced my life, and I am grateful.
My Family has encouraged me more this year than any other. I am so thankful for everyone in my family (pictured, and not pictured), without every one of you I would not be who I am today, and I praise God for keeping me on this earth to be who I am today. Thank you
This Spring I had the opportunity to visit my parents in China who are currently counseling and teaching college students
This spring was filled with some of my favorite hobbies
I was also able to take an incredible trip to Germany to see old friends and attend a wedding for one of my favorite people, an old running partner and adventure buddy.
It was a short trip, but very fun and memorable
Over the last year I trained to complete the Seattle To Portland (STP) again, but unfortunately came down with the flu two days before the race. I was able to finish the first half, but after 100 miles I was not able to regain any energy and started to loose feeling in my arms. I ended up not regaining feeling in my left arm below my elbow until months later... oops
I spent a lot of time on and around the water this Summer, many evenings after work consisted of river or lake days, as well as training with friends on bikes, going shooting, or mobbing down a gravel forest road and soaking in the beautiful views
A big time MVP of this year was the McGlynn family, many days consisted of hanging out with their kid, my favorite! I even got to have him over for a sleepover and he came to work with me the next day. What a blessing this wonderful family is.
Ive been smoking meat quite a bit this summer, and ran a few small races, one involved drinking a pint of beer every mile, that was pretty rough.
I put a lot of miles on my car, many road trips and quick day trips, and in turn, put a lot of hours into fixing my car. Two things that I actually quite enjoy.
Time at home is spent with my favorite animals, my dog Vinnie is four years old and is a very tall and large dog, weighing 120 pounds, and my cat Kiki is seven and still my favorite cat ever.
I recently got back from a road trip to the Arctic circle in Alaska. 8,140 miles
On my way back I was able to drive all the way down the rocky mountain range to Boise to visit my brother David. It is always such a blessing to see him and spend time talking, goofing off, and eating great food
After coming home from Alaska I started a new job. The things I miss the most about my old job are BBQ Mondays, and being right around the corner from the best Donut shop around.
Again, my family is amazing, my friends are amazing, every one of you are incredible too, and I only have Jesus to thank for it all. Without His incredible gift and sacrifice to give each of us the opportunity to accept eternal life in Him, we would not have anything to live for. Trust in Him, Live for Jesus.
I love every one of you so very much. God has blessed me with life and joy in Him. I hope that you consider letting Him who created you to fill you up with his Spirit that will give you strength, joy, ambition for His glory, and true faith in Him who has already defeated Satan, sin, and death. He will change your life for the better, I guarantee it
Psalm 9:10
"Those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you"
